# Scheduling Events in HuddleUp

> How to create, edit, duplicate, and cancel games, practices, and team events in HuddleUp Sports. Supports recurring events, location-based weather, and automatic push notification reminders.

Keep your team organized by creating events that automatically appear on every family's [calendar](/docs/families/family-calendar).

## Event Types

HuddleUp supports three event types:

* **Practice** — Regular training sessions
* **Game** — Matchups against other teams
* **General** — Team meetings, picture day, end-of-season parties, etc.

## Creating an Event

1. Go to your **Team** page
2. Tap **Create Event**
3. Select the event type
4. Fill in the details:
   * **Title** — e.g., "Practice" or "vs. Eagles"
   * **Date and time**
   * **Location** — Enter an address for directions and [live weather data](/docs/families/weather)
   * **Notes** — Any additional info for families (what to bring, parking, etc.)
5. Tap **Save**

The event immediately appears on every team member's calendar and families receive a push notification.

## Recurring Events

For events that repeat on a schedule (like weekly practices):

1. Create your first event as usual
2. Tap **Duplicate**
3. Adjust the date and time for the next occurrence
4. Save

<Tip>
  Duplicating saves time for recurring practices — create one, then duplicate it for each week of the season. All event details (location, notes) carry over.
</Tip>

## Editing an Event

Tap any event and select **Edit** to change the details. All families are notified of the change automatically via push notification — no need to send a separate message.

## Canceling an Event

1. Open the event
2. Tap **Delete**
3. Confirm

All families receive a cancellation notification immediately. Keeping [notifications](/docs/families/notifications) active is important so families don't make an unnecessary trip.

## Event Reminders

Families receive push notification reminders before events. This helps reduce no-shows and keeps [RSVP numbers](/docs/families/rsvp) accurate.

## Attendance & RSVPs

When families [RSVP](/docs/families/rsvp) to your events, you'll see an attendance summary:

* **Going** — Confirmed attendees
* **Maybe** — Tentative
* **Not Going** — Confirmed absences
* **No Response** — Haven't replied yet

This helps you plan for the right number of players at practice or know if you need to adjust your game lineup.
