HuddleUp’s livestreaming feature lets you broadcast games directly from the app. Grandparents, out-of-town family, and anyone who can’t make it to the field can watch in real-time — no third-party apps needed.

Starting a Livestream

  1. Open the game event from your calendar
  2. Tap Go Live
  3. Grant camera and microphone permissions when prompted
  4. Point your camera at the action
  5. The stream is shared with all team members automatically

Camera Controls

While streaming, you can:
  • Switch cameras — Toggle between front and back camera
  • Mute audio — Turn your microphone on or off during the stream

Who Can Watch

All parents and family members on the team can view the livestream from the event page in their app.

Viewer Experience

When a game is being livestreamed, a “Live” indicator appears on the event in the calendar. Parents tap the event to open the livestream viewer, which includes:
  • Live video — Real-time broadcast from the field
  • Chat overlay — Send and read messages while watching (great for cheering from afar)
  • Viewer count — See how many family members are tuned in
  • Auto-reconnect — If the connection drops momentarily, the stream reconnects automatically

Ending a Livestream

Tap End Stream when the game is over. The stream stops immediately for all viewers.

Tips for a Good Stream

  • Stable connection — Use Wi-Fi or a strong cellular signal (5G/LTE recommended). Weak signal causes buffering for viewers
  • Phone positioning — Find a good angle with a clear view of the field or court. Consider a tripod or phone mount for a steady shot
  • Battery life — Streaming drains battery quickly. Keep your device plugged in or start with a full charge
  • Test first — Do a quick 30-second test stream before the game starts to make sure video and audio are working
  • Orientation — Hold your phone in landscape mode for the best viewing experience
